March Midday Program
Join us as Sara Schliep draws back the curtains to reveal the intriguing story of the Folger Shakespeare Library’s past and future. You may already know about its founders, Henry and Emily, but Sara will introduce you to more characters, talk about landmark acquisitions, unveil moments of joy and mourning, disclose the Library’s expanding institutional responsibilities and offerings, and even discuss the Folger’s present renovation project and divulge its plans for the future.
Sara probably weathers winters better than most, having studied or interned in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Reykjavik, and even on Iceland’s Haskoli Islands. She’s been at the Folger since 2019, where she started as a rare materials resident and has swiftly become an archivist and cataloger. Equally at home with physical objects and with the latest in digitization, Sara brings a fresh perspective to the Folger’s iconic collection.
