John Blew, a long time ULCC and Caxton Club member, will discuss his deep dive into the history of the murals in Room 816/The Boys Club Room and their connection to the formative years of what was then known as the Union League Foundation for Boys Clubs. Join us for this fascinating discussion as John weaves his research into muralist Miklos Gaspar with the origins of the Boys Club organization and facilities. A highlight of his presentation will be a comprehensive set of color photographs of the murals commissioned by John.

John Blew was born and raised in Chicago. He attended Dartmouth College, graduating in 1962 with a major in economics, and then went on to Harvard Law School, graduating in 1966. Blew practiced corporate and securities law in Chicago for 42 years with Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP, and then for three years with its successor firm, K & L Gates LLP. He retired from law in 2011. Blew is a member of the Caxton Club and the Union League Club of Chicago, a member and former director of the Society of Architectural Historians and the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, and a former member of the Visiting Committee to the University of Chicago Library.
