CAXTON CLUB On the Move
The Union League Club’s remarkable art collection is second in Chicago only to that of the Art Institute, and in no area can that more clearly be seen than in the collection of paintings from artists of the 1893 Columbian Exposition.
Caxtonians will enjoy presentations by the Union League Club docents, led by Dr. Sally Metzler, Director of the Art Collection. They will reveal the details of the Club’s Columbian Exposition art holdings and the captivating stories of the paintings and the painters from the fair of 1893.
Following the art tour we will have the opportunity to join Union League Club Librarian and Caxtonian Cheryl Ziegler as she displays portions of the Union League Club’s Columbian Exposition archives.
Guests will assemble at 5:30 pm in the ULC Library on the 4th Floor.
Attendance is open to Caxton Club members and their guests only. The cost is $45 per person; heavy appetizers and a glass of wine are included. Additional beverages will be available for purchase.
